This is a combination of silicone and an amino acid.  It forms a film on the hair which can only be removed with sulfate based shampoos.  It is a very common ingredient in "shine boosters", some shampoos, and conditioners. 

When selecting a shampoo, you should carefully check the label for this particular ingredient. 

Note:  Some curlies are able to use this particular silicone without ill effects.  I, myself, find that it makes my hair frizzy with extended usage.  It works quite well at first but after a few weeks, my hair becomes dry and nothing will moisturize it.
